HRSA’s Bureau of Clinician Recruitment and Service is Accepting Applications for the National Health Service Corps’ (NHSC) Ambassador Program.
The NHSC has a long-standing history of placing primary care clinicians in some of the Nation’s neediest communities. One of the reasons the Corps has been successful is because of the invaluable assistance provided by our network of nationwide volunteers or “Ambassadors” that have helped the Corps meet its mission to increase access to primary care in underserved communities. Ambassadors recruit, mentor, expose, and train students to pursue careers in primary care and encourage clinicians to practice in these same communities. For many of our Ambassadors, these are activities in which they are already involved, formally or informally, at their institution, health facility, enrichment program or private practice. The NHSC provides resources and technical assistance for those who may need additional help.
To register as an Ambassador and to find out more about the program go to http://nhsc.bhpr.hrsa.gov/ambassadors/ . For questions call Diane Culkin at 301-594-4141.
